Marc and I just finished a week at the Semantic Technology Conference in San Jose, California. The conference was much bigger than last year. This included the traditional uses of Semantic Technology, like Northrup Grumman and Genentech, along with new companies looking for an edge, like Proctor & Gamble. The internet search panel was buzzing with the recent release of Bing , by Microsoft, which extensively uses the technology from its recent acquisition Powerset. The take away for us was that in a time where many companies are having difficultly, the Semantic Technology Sector is growing and growing quickly.
As part of Alitora's participation, Marc Hadfield presented at two sessions. The first was at the Semantic Code Camp put on by the Silicon Valley Semantic Technology Group . The video of the session is here. The second session was a presentation of Innovation Networks in Life Science. The slides for which are here.
All in all, I would like to thank our friends and colleagues at Top Quadrant , Dow Jones, Semantic Universe and many others. Special thanks to Wilshire Conferences for putting on the event.
